Why OH WHY????

June 30, 2006

At long last…. back from lovely BKK… and went straight out to watch the quarter finals of world cup yah?

at our fave local, they were taking bets on what the score would be….friend guessed right….argentina and germany did draw after 90 minutes…but waht a killer after that.
i myself had predicted a 3-2 score in favour of argentina…an underestimation on my part thinking tht both teams needed time to get into rhythm of game but no…both were psyched to play their best.
The argentinians were wily and tricky…willing to put all they had into the game….which caused them to dominate the game most of the time…they gave their best going for the ball…which resulted in a higher foul statistic.
And yes they had lots of scoring chances…about 3 went straight right into the leg of german defender and they had about 2-3 scoring attempts…but lehmahn knew what he was doing. I saw alot of panting germans……maybe the argentinians were undergoing the same problem as well…but the camera wasnt on them. Argentina was the fitter side from what the camera let us see.
Ayalo put the ball in right past not one or two germans but THREE at teh goalpost. ARGENTINA WAS READY TO LIFF THE CUP!!!!

The first goal keeper for argentina was injured from a knee to his tummy…so second keeper came out…he was too inexperienced…which cost the argentinians their game…..and first placing.

Cos even tho the argentinians played their utmost (the germans were outclassed, argentinians had hgher percentage of ball possession), but they blew their scoring chances. And they drew the score…which in a way was good cos friend was aboiut RM50 richer for guessing 1-1 score at 90 minutes. YES, it is true….the germans had a hard time cos the oppponents kept disrupting their flow and teamwork…… I guessed the 3-2 score cos expercted germany to play like the game against sweden….twas superb….. they were all psyched up and spurred on by home ground advantage to go the whole way to the GOLD medal… though they coud not keep it up…conceding only a two point lead against Sweden. Argentina hammered Serbia 6-0.

its just a shame the first keeper wasnt ready for the penalty kicks when the teams drew yet again after extra time.
into extra time, both sides kept their cool…. Germany was in mostly in possession….Argentina was ready to pounce even though cool…and happy to win by a one point margin…but their chance never came. Which called for penalty kicks….ARRRGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Their downfall….the keeper was just not ready….unless first keeper purposely came out to let the taller lankier keeper have a shot at saving the shots.

Friends were ecstatic that germany won…… for personal reasons and because…….England would have an easier time dealing with Germany than with Argentina.

Bangsar

June 17, 2006

Party people love to remniscence abt th egood old days when bangsar was still happening and all that……our fave hangout was always full to brim and music-full. Two years later…..i found myself in the same place due to some circumstances.

Had trudged over to Bangsar to meet office peeps for reasons i had forgotten till i reached Telawi….. had popped in Finns first which was dead quiet and then…..heard some commotion outside….

throw

Twas the French Art festival (NOW i remember why we were meeting there) and then the MC suddenly announced a cheerleading routine…….so i scrambled to get me camera out..
band

Busy week ahead….

…so before i get fully embroiled…. some pics to calm me down and prep me up….

Pup

Once dadda sent a pic of swans at the lake…. there was also a baby swan.. and i reckon he took that pic whilst he was having his daily walkies with booboo for her. Thinking that all the dogs boo knows is choc labradors….decided to send her this one…

This here pup was born 2 months ago with 5 brothers and a sister.. all were taken by strangers who thought they were cute….leaving momsie with none at all….. mom was wandering everywhere looking for them..tot i’d never see a dog cry…but this one did. Well, the building staff took the pup in actually so sometimes mom gets to see her when they bring her along. All’s well ends well I guess?

yeah!

This is Boo…..BooBoo u rock my world!!!

lecka

Went to Lecka Lecka restaurant and bar for a sample of their food…….YUM!
Below is their sizzling Brownies dessert…… the only in KL I believe.

feast

Last night’s feast before we went off to watch Argentine crush Serbia Montenegro. They seem to be in fine form…. the Serbs seem to be a little over un-keen to foul though, but the Argentinians wreaked havoc… its usually not easy to keep up a scoring spree esp. when you are already certain of winning the game…but Argentina hammered in goal after goal….
This has got to be the worst defeat ever handed to another team in World Cup 2006… the trick now for Argentina is to keep riding that wave and not fall into the valley of complacency…otherwise they be screwed.

ahhh

And that Yahoo! event…. (www.asiainteractiveawards.com)

Look out for new www.yahoo.com.my pages come early July…..

Hmmm

June 15, 2006

… Keane on me iTunes, chewing a Bounty from Beijing *yum yum chew chew*….. i cant afford to be slacking like this right now.

But an unusual thought suddenly occured to me……

….earlier in the week had the chance to properly encounter open source peeps.
Their passion and aggression was legendary… Id heard so much about it already and then suddenly there i was, being given a first rate example.

“They memang very religious with their beliefs. No point arguing with them wan…,” said someone who’d know very well about it.

But how are OSS people in the virtual world?

Another confounding thought hit me yesterday too, right in the middle of lunch time when I was chewing my sweet and sour pork.
Jean Grey could easily use her telekinesis to throw peeps away…… why was she using it to control the movement and force of air to sweep peeps away instead???

Mugshot-ed!

Yaaaaay

Havent explored it all yet, but in true open source spirit, theres freedom, “flexibility” and lots to build upon Mugshot.

Sharing

Sharing links is just one of the things this RedHat client can do……

chat

Sharing isnt any use if you cant discuss it…. *me is loving it!!!!*

Anti-productivity tool, my foot.
The way the interface and navigation is right now, this is precisely the kind of collaboration tool that at least I am looking for.
Out of this world…. instead of having an IM client (MSN Messenger) and building tools and discussions around it and the messaging window… it seems to start off from a webpage first (at least in WebSwarm’s case).

There’s a small almost 2MB software to download that enables a sort of chat applet AS WELL AS a bar at the bottom of webpage being “swarmed”.
It notifies The World and peeps you want to send link to, of the page you are looking at.
The chat dialogue also appears there in real time.

In a way this (Web Swarm) extends what Google Notebook does… it adds discuss functionality as well. I have yet to see how to go about saving links, chats and then accessing them again later on the same machine.

Web Swarm rocks, from what Ive seen of it. Will get to the rest not too much later, I hope.

Got myself the X-Men VCD…

part One…. no dun believe Ive seen this one… i think i was too worried abt watching it…. worried that i wont be able to handle the discrepancies…
Tis funny Rogue has has her accent right here…as does Ororo…but by Part 3 its all gone, trust you, me….
Always tot Halle Berry was too vulnerable to play Storm…. but shes pretty ok here…till about Part 3 also… and Famke Jassen looked much too distinguished to be Jean Grey whom i always tot was a pushover as Marvel Girl.
As Phoenix….she’s superb though….but the shade of red by part Three looked like strawberry fruit colouring.
