Only in Japan…
…. some weeks ago, was having a nice vendor dinner at some nice resort on Sentosa… to my left were fellow Malaysians and to my right were folks from Japan…. twas fantastic opportunity to check out their high-tech gadgetry, no?
This particular phone is Vodafone’s Sharp and is able to buy retail goods….simply wave the front of phone in front of a receiver and you are done!
This particular had a high-megapixel camera and was also a Sharp from Vodafone.
Interestingly, was at an event in BKK before that event, hosted by Japanese vendors as well….. they had similar phones from Vodafone Sharp and also attested to not having PDA phones in Japan.
The HP exec from Japan however says there is…. but himself was carrying a large-screened Sharp mobile phone. Needless to say, he utilised phone’s Bluetooth for the very first time that night (he was an elderly gent) during dinner… to send me a pic on my Moto PEBL because MMS wasnt supported on the 8700g - had to go to a link to view pic….which by now is already expired.
Nice to know that at least Bluetooth is almost universal on most mobile devices…even ones from the Land of the Rising Sun.
