On the highway to airport right now..weather is gloomy..drizzling in fact.
Someone says, “Lucky thing we visited the Great Wall already.”

I’m not going to miss china even though we had a stunning event yesterday at Commune near the wall…the city center was a sight to behold…I still hv dreams abt the peking duck we had on first day…there was a little twinge of curiousity abt the people here and everything abt them reflected in architecture..the way the grass is kept..the way business is done etc but I’m more relieved to be going home.

The event is huge and I need to store it quickly before the immensity of the new month hits me head on.
All the more cos today is merdeka eve and foresee partying wit drink bud who was away for more than a month. But before that there is also the colleagues wedding … No saree there.

Slight bottleneck in front… Hope we make it to airport on time.. Haven’t had brekkie and I’m famished. Plus 630 am is ungodly hour to wake to catch a plane.

At starbucks now. Going to the airport here is like meeting half the population of china as well…@lus wat were the chances of meeting the china b ball team on their way to germany???
We gave each other liberal doses of eyeballs..but eventually separated at immigration.. And then came smack upon another china team… This time decided to speak wit them in my lauya mandarin.. this was the judo team on their way to korea… I marvel at four of their hulksters.. Usually more suitable for basketball..were they being channeled into sports they might not hv an interest in?

Hv always loved the china, korea and taiwan, japan teams.. Saw them as finely tuned athletic machines (even tho china teams basics were sucky). I always esp admired those whose limbs and joints seemed to be fully wrapped in sturdy and spongy tendons and meniscus.. Enhancing their ability to hop around with least damaging impact to their joints and never ever seeming to suffer from sprains, tears or overworkedness.

Checked out the departure info and see that the b ball team is leaving an hour after us at gate 17… Maybe I will go over to say hi…

Update: The China team also drinks coffee! Sigh…they are so cute.

Dadda’s have been having malfunctioning speakers for weeks already and tried to fix it to no avail… even i was stumped.

Started to panic a little when i got another IM this morning.

“Hey, you have to be at airport at 10pm you know right? Dont be late ar”
“10 pm? Ok. The predeparture pack didnt properly say wat time there… I got it without any cover email,” said I.
Reply came, “You didnt even know what time to be at airport and you didnt ask ar??”
And it’s sad but i, “Forgot.”

Been somewhat occupied. Still in office, almost time to go but theres a nagging feeling that Ive forgotten something.

Packing Update: May have to take the heavy as heck notebook with me. You dont just pass up complimentary Wi-Fi service.
Im not packed. Im not even sure which luggage to bring. Clothes are just drying right now.
Damn… lecture at 2pm…..its hot and dry, and im sweating and sticky….its just NOT what i need!!

Decided to take komuter from.midvalley today.. Never from that station and very seldom at all so din know wat to expect.
Got the tix then went to platform two to behold a shitload of peeps waiting.. And when I say shitload I mean it.

Train arrived in due time but the thing is, its crammed like sardines in tin can.. Everyone still had a go at it..which of course meant benches were empty. I made myself comfy, took out d berry and proceeded to prepare for wait of 15 mins.
But surprise surprise another came along. Not as crowded but the doors were narrow and few causing massive bottlenecks.

I wudave taken the cab but for the just as massive queues.. Its only wednesday.. Wat r all these folks doing at the shopping mall?
On a somewhat sad note..its wednesday but am staying in.
All this to be rectified next week when drink bud comes back!!!!!

Am somewhat worried when during lunch someone mentioned clutch and I asked wat it was. There was a collective gasp before I was told abt the clutch. I’m getting worried. Whyever were manual cars allowed to continue being made? Why do we hv to test with a manual car?? Why are there six gear modes?? Why do we have to step on gas to accelerate and not push a button?? Just because peeps can press ctrl alt delete doesn’t mean they’ll hv it all together for their hands eyes and feet simultaneously!!!

Count myself lucky tat most of my frens do not go to the web…they are blessedly non tech savvy.. It does hv some drawbacks but more positive than bad actually.

90 percent of my IM contacts b work contacts and basically tat wat we chat abt, the work and industry..

I know few frens who wud try infnlame me to frigging jihad type online wars..even tho they mean well..but its just a bad idea to even consider some of their notions,..the scarier thing is they lead busy fulfilling lives but eagerly jump up to full attention when there is gossip to b heard. Bless them.

Had lunch today with a client … a mean feast of dim-sum and sharksfin soup…. there was another called Monk over the Wall or something like that, which consisted of abalone and a whole lot of seafood…costing RM96!!
Tot id better not push my luck and had sharksfin which i like anyway….and it was kept piping hot by a candle beneath….yum!

Tot I could get back home early to finish deadlines but got sidetracked…….. to www.sdc.com.my …. with luck..will be driving a car before end of year??? If all goes well, I will even be a “Lembu” by early September!

But i need to get thru the KPP first…..out of 500 questions, 50 will be picked and u need a score of 42 above to pass. The nice clerk was soothing even before i said anything….”Dont worry…can pass, can pass…its easy wan..” 45 mins for 50 questions!

Then there is smtg called the maintenance class fee which is theory classes (3 hours) then basic driving (3 hours) costing about Rm350 afterwhich i can get my Lembu license…..

i forgot to ask if i need to take the 12 hour driving classes. Rm240. Every extra one hour class is Rm30.

Ive never even ever experimented driving a car…. so not sure how i will react in that environment yet. Well……

Decided to look at friend’s Multiply pics at last… took a lot of preparation cos my machine isnt the fastest nor is my broadband package and i know she took millions of pics of her wedding.

ALso decided to streamline my accounts as much as I can… an overwhelming task seeing I have accounts as old as 2002.. even dug up old pics from Yahoo! Photos… surprised myself looking back at old old OLLLLD pics of days of yore. The pics are as old as four to five years…
was like the time i went to look at my Geocities account few months back …and found my old old pics from 2001???

Used a lot of Yahoo! services back then….wonder about nowadays, though.

Would have loved to put my pics at Multiply account where bulk of frens seem to be at, but alas twasnt possible. Maybe just as well…cos Multiply pages take ages to load. I like the old MSN Spaces way of uploading pics - quick and convenient with option to caption on the fly.

My real blog is elsewhere, I seldom put up loads of pics so no real photo account, and I havent caught on with video blogging yet so Im blessedly spared from another, though I have a travel website somewhere.

At times like this….yes, a service like Mugshot’s would be useful
