Is it really going to be Xmas…

December 3, 2006

…sure doesnt feel like it. More than usual maybe cos almost all the family are in Puchong now. But otherwise…zilch. Nada. Numero ZERO.

Eating cold luncheon meat while typing this…. cold luncheon meat? All the result of a prank pulled by da girls. Reached rendezvous point and nicely nicely settled down to frying my fave Codfo luncheon meat with ham.
Friend comes in to kitchen, looks at it and says, “M is coming to get us. She’s two minutes away.”

AND THEN… we drove past z bar….

“Cant use this way anymore, someone said got roadblock. Some kind of celebration. All roads closed got to go the other way.”I saw cars on the other side of the road that was “supposedly” blocked. But I waited.
We even hit a jam near Bank Negara…. and when we passed by Dataran Merdeka… I thought i heard sounds of a carnival…

“You see, I told you got something happening wan!” friend says a little too enthusiastically.

By the time, we drove past Hotel Istana, instructions were given to go behind Carnegie’s way.

“This way, this way….behind Standard Chartered.”
And then,……. “Eh, how to go back to Brickfields from this way?”

Yea, we ended up at Carnegies’, they decided to make Cat happy for a while lar… but neglected to tell me about it, I suspect cos she wants to get back at me for something which happened a few days ago.

“Spirit of Rock” Carnegies’ has had a change of management to probably those who own tsb, cynna, la bodega etc. There are distinct differences… and on the way down to the toilet there are fire hazards just waiting to happen. I took one look at the candles at the side of the stairs and thought, “Geez its turned into a poofter bar??”It was alright other than that….music was better than before and there were a nice bunch of blokes from few weeks ago.

Then it was onward to Zeta.

The highlight would have to be when we met the Lebanese. Then the American. And then both of them meeting each other. They both talked… then started to look as though they were spoiling for a fight. Lebanese had mentioned he hated Americans…so suspecting that politics may have been a cause, had to go in between to referee.

“What did you say to him?” I asked Lebanese. “I hate George Bush,” he states.

Then the Lecture proceeds. Try to imagine me lecturing a guy twice my age.

“Dont bring your politics to this bar. I refuse to be responsible if he starts a brawl, cos i introduced the both of you. Keep your shit out of the way.”

Yep

US-ian was an utter sleazebag… a bit like Woody Harrelson when he acted in Wag the Dog… sending off bad vibes to everyone in the group. The guys were just itching to punch him, the girls recoiled away and after serenading him with Michael Jackson’s Man in the Mirror, me says, “You are in the wrong place.”

Cold luncheon meat all gone now… may topple over with lack of sleep soon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Didnt sleep, ended up going grocery shopping for local food deprived Malaysians. Took all of seven hours non-stop as well as a very big shopping trolley. Also saw this scene on the way.
It IS X'mas...
Dunno whats going to happen for X’mas… we may go back to Melaka… aim to take a long leave… but I guess nothing can be confirmed yet till at least deadlines are met…. crossing my fingers…would be good to get out of KL by 17th December. Drink bud leaves on the 18th.
