Dont know what to blog about…

April 28, 2007

…just feel the need to write.
Funny cos earlier today was looking at assorted books and was wondering which to bring along with me for the weekend.

Decided to enrich myself as culturally as i could (which is a fancy way of saying reading), because its been ages since id done it (read a book that is).

What did i pick?

A collection of children’s folklore from around Asia. Called something similar.

And, Rally Cry. A sci-fi fantasy about ships mysteriously disappearing through some black hole in the bermuda triangle, and ending up in this alternate universe where man-eating Tugars cruelly reigned.

What i like about it?
How the good guys rallied against the bad guys… basically how Tugar slaves who’d succumbed due to inferior weaponry took hope with the more advanced artillery that came along with the Union Army’s 35th Maine.

Sorry, sorry twas The Adversary by Julian May. Damn but i cant remember what its about, even though had read that book in that era of my life when I’d repeat a book over and over just to understand every single possible aspect and nuance of the story-telling.

Something to think about.

… if you think the whole world is against you and wont give you a chance… maybe its because you won’t give it a chance.

You see the thing is, that just because you would do such a thing, doesnt mean other people would. Because they arent you.

And now…
Yes, booboo...

Yes booboo, I love you too!!!!!!!!!!!

What does this mean for existing online vid sharing services. Or even Set top box makers?
hardware versus software… at the end of the day…… will broadband speeds pull through.

Update: what a letdown. Someone professes he already has a software that lets him do all that. And he doesnt need to pay cos he cracked it.

Pathetic

If all it takes to think that life is good is to catch two cabs in a row that charge by meter… life must be very low-key or just plain un-happening.

Formula One came and went. Felt no urge to witness it, even though had basically enjoyed last year’s edition courtesy of a generous vendor. Few nights before also had made the acquaintance of a German TV crew that was covering the event and were “excited to be in KL.” One of them (the cutest of the lot *sigh* ) even had his balls whacked by a hoe. Then she dragged him off to a corner and continued to molest him. Me and the rest watched as he tried to escape…as stupefied as our alco-soaked brains let us be. They were mostly a decent lot and managed to look embarassed.
Then seedy cab drivers took the restless Germans off to Waikiki after Hoe House closed for the night.

We never saw them since. For the silliest of reasons.

An unexpected trip to the loo the day after, caused us to miss the crew who had loitered outside the bar, took one look at the Chivas booth and then buggered off.

Famished.

Been on liquid diet since last nite…
Would give almost anything for a good hard and solid McDonalds Double Cheeseburger Value Meal AND large Chicken Porridge.

Watching Brotherhood IV: The Complex. Reviews are right… it IS a show about groups of boys in undies. Being eliminated one by one.

Guts and glory

..just saw the much talked about “300″

The kind of movie you would call graphically enhanced, all the way from mood settings, atmosphere colours to exaggerated snarling teeth, blazing eyes and muscles of bare-bodied Spartans.

A cross between Sin City and Aeon Flux (but without the geometry and with more poetry).

Grawsome. (Gruesome + Awesome).

Life so far…

April 5, 2007

… busy, busy. But, of course id rather be that than not.
Ive been feeling my mortality a lot lately. As how a friend would put it.

You take a good hard look at how you are living your life, and hah! should i add that it shouldnt come as a surprise cos it was about time to? An older friend of mine, who is older by some years and a touted exercise and health conscious person had gone off to climb mountains… who would have thought she would return with torn ligaments… makes you think about the human endurance cos she completed the course anyway, and also about how badly i myself would fare.

Interestingly had gone off to the The Actors Studio to watch Jit Murad… this is the second time ive seen him perform, was looking forward to it cos i recall he gave me a stitch at my side with his rendition of a gay hairdresser.

This time it was different.. maybe cos the duration was longer… it was more political, less vulgar and a little poignant when at one point he pulled out a huge book and started to read what was in it… his life story.
We laughed the loudest till tears rolled down our eyes.. friend even had to ask me to check her mascara.

At the end of the day, I have been toying with the idea of writing a book… it’s funny that a comedian did it first.
