She’s/He’s baaaacccckkkk…
Im usually the last to find out.
The MediaSlut was out of commission for a bit, and then suddenly returned as The (new) MediaSlut with a brand new look… and a different accent.
Still cant tell if its a dude or dudette behind it, but I WILL have fun trying to guess who ………*big grin*
In other news… succumbed to Face Book at last. Had heard about it more than a year back, and even though had signed up to a bunch of social network sites (Hi5, My Space, Frienster, PerfSpot, TagWorld etcetcetc where I could find friends. You wont believe the amount of IDs and passwords I have to memorise!!!) just for experimentation’s sake, I overlooked FB thinking that the US college student crowd would not help me learn anything I needed to. Happy to say, its extended its reach to other types of communities!
That was more than a year ago…… am pleasantly surprised with how it actually is right now - for one, it’s a totally different format from MySpace or Friendster…… FB users can actively engage their friends in ways the other two cannot. Logging into FB is like walking into a room full of people in the same industry/alumni/hometown as you (or not). It’s not your living room and some kind of dress codes apply - shorts and singlet won’t do!
And then you see that its alright to do things like buying rounds of drinks, or zombi-fying people or growing a garden… and things start to really roll from there. There are so many engaging activities on there that you can do alone or with your networks…that it really starts to become similar to a simulated life. If you let it.
Otherwise it’s really like civilised socialising (without the classifieds and porn pics u see elsewhere. Havent really seen any. YET) and without having to have the same attention span as when you are face-to-face with these people. FaceBook… nice.
Though Im a little miffed that halfway into the Music Quiz and breaching Music Pioneer status, the apps decides to go wonky on me… back to Novice
Multiply is a little similar though there aren’t as many apps as add-ons (may have to check that again cos havent logged in for a verrrrrrrrry long time). Id like to try out Habbo Hotel, but it looks too much of a hassle to try to get people I already know, onto another social network service.
